Computer Science Engineering
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was started in the year 1997 with an intake of 60. The Department is highly progressive and has a team of well qualified, experienced in both Industry and academies. It has well-equipped hi-end computers and research laboratories for teaching, online classes, software product development and projects. Both students and faculty provided with WI-FI enabled unlimited internet access.
The Department has an R&D Center, affiliated to VTU and an Incubation Center which is facilitating the students to acquire practical knowledge. Faculty are Google Trained experts and has undergone many training on newer technologies. Regular skill development training, coding competitions, Hackathons and webinars are organized to give exposure on cutting edge technologies by means of Industrial visits, research projects and technical talks from domain experts of reputed Software Companies.
Department has recorded very good placements since its inception. The students are encouraged to involve themselves in creative, technical and research activities, also they are continuously giving best results in university examination.
Google foundation and advanced courses for cloud computing in collaboration with Google are conducted for students which is designed and guided by Google Company itself. Our graduates are working in leading IT industries and many students have secured admissions to prestigious universities in India and abroad. At present we have around 150 organizations where in our alumni are making a difference, both for the company and society at large.

Facilities available
- Department has well-furnished smart class rooms, equipped with smart boards and CCTVs. There are 8 well equipped laboratories, 6 as per the VTU curriculum, 2 additional Skill development training centers, 1 R&D Laboratory and 1 Project Laboratory to give learning a practical dimension. Department also has tutorial rooms with necessary infrastructure.

- Department has "Google Student Ambassador(GSO)" Program.
- Department has plans to enter into a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with ALTEM Technologies, Bangalore for imparting training in CATIA software to the Students of VVIET and it would also benefit students of neighboring institutions.

Department Library:
In addition to the central Library, the department has its own departmental library. Department Library is equipped with 320 volumes. The magazines, project reports, seminar reports are also kept for the student's reference.
Project Laboratory:
The project Lab provides all the facilities for the students to complete their projects which are assigned in 7th Semester. The students are given time of one year for the completion of their project.
