Research and Development plays a critical role in the innovation process. It's essentially an investment in technology and future capabilities which is transformed into new products, processes, and services. Our faculties and students in particular have devoted themselves to R&D and as a result constantly come out with innovative ideas.

The Research & Development Cell is setup for encouraging faculty and students towards pursuing research and to create an ambience for such activities. Under this Cell the technical talents of staff and students are nurtured. The projects developed by staff and students are evaluated at various levels, first at the department level and then at institute level. The projects which have the potential of being converted into products are identified and then reviewed by entrepreneurs and industrialists. Staff and students are encouraged to take part in various national and international level competitions to enhance their technical competency. Innovative ideas are considered for Intellectual Property Rights like copyrights and patents. The departments are informed to provide information on different themes about their research activities along with requirements to pursue the research work. • Orientation program for faculities across the branches for skill development initiatives.
• SAP emplyability linked program under yuvaYuga Project for 8th Semester students
• Supporting 8th semester students for employability training under CMKKY in colaboration with GTTC-Siemen's Center of Excellence , Mysore. Supoort extended from registration process to providing free transposrt facility to all registered students.
• Conducting certificate course in PCB design and manufacturing for students and FDP for the same with industry collaboration
• Skill Development program on COMSOL Multiphysics for final year students.

Next steps on Skill Development (2019-20)

Identification of soft skills for our students at different level of their academic years has been carried out with thorough deliberation and received feed back from faculties , industry experts as well as students. The aggragation as in attached file.

To add on the basic infrastructure in campus for training of students on various Core Skills , SDC is in process of submitting the proposals to management for different lab facilities relevant to courses identified looking into current and futuristic technology and industry trend.
