Electrical and Electronics Engineering
Since its inception in 1997, the Electrical and Electronics Engineering department has been consistently growing and proving to be the best among all the engineering colleges in the region. This is the only college under VTU which has an intake of 120 students, and presently the department has 400+ students.
From the very first batch department received 3 ranks under Mysore University and continued under VTU during, 2005 with 10th rank, 2007 with 8th rank, 2012 with 5th rank and during 2013 with 9th rank.
The department is well equipped with latest experimental setups, computational facilities with required licensed software packages and possesses departmental library with 850+ text books.
The department has faculty members who always enrich the student with their practical knowledge and innovative ideas with diversified specializations in their master degree like M Tech /ME in Power Systems, Power Electronics, Energy Systems & Management, Bio Medical Signal processing & Instrumentation, Industrial Automation Engineering, Computer application in Industrial Drives, VLSI Design and Embedded Systems, who are all striving to cater the students not only in delivering the courses but mentoring them to reach their goals.
The knowledge acquired during the courses helps them to be placed both in core and software companies. Some of the prominent companies who have placed EEE students are ABB, L&T, GE, ROBERT BOSCH, WIPRO, INFOSYS etc.. and placed in government sectors like KPTCL, KPCL, ESCOMS etc.

Facilities available
The Department is well equipped with the latest experimental setups, Computational facilities with required software packages (Mi-Power and Mat-lab etc) and a departmental mini library.
The department is very keen in organizing co-curricular and extracurricular activities through students association e- safe. Department has International Society of Automation (ISA) – Student Section” which benefits to students through the various programs like Internships, industry visits, scholarship programs etc.
The department has initiated an Entrepreneurship Development-Cell “AnthahPrerana" to give platforms for budding entrepreneurs to nurture their idea and make it to successful start-up.
Since 2012 department is organizing every year a state level project competition ‘AvEEEshkar’ which gives practical exposure to the students.
The projects funded by Agastya International Foundation is one of a kind where in high school children are trained by engineering students to give exposure of technology. From 2014 department has been participating and received cash prizes and viewer’s choice awards in this State level project competition called “ANVESHANA” .
To create awareness among the VVET students about the celestial bodies, objects and space organizations, including ISRO. The Space Club entitled as “VARIVAAS“ established under the aegis of the Department of EEE to encourage and develop space related programs and technologies in small scale.
Department has sufficient class rooms and most of them are equipped with ICT (Information Communication Technology) tools.
Library Facility
The department library is equipped with more than 850 books, Magazines, student project reports & Seminar reports for quick reference for both students and staff.
Project, Research & Development Facility
The Project and Research & Development lab provides all the facilities to students to conduct experiments, design prototype models which enhance their practical knowledge, skills and thereby leading to new Innovations.
To carryout Research activity in the department the following facilities are provided:
- Mi-Power Software
- MAT Lab software.
- Embedded system laboratory.
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
To bridge the gap between industry and institute the department of EEE signed MoU with
- Government Tool Room & Training Centre (GTTC), Mysuru - For Imparting Training in the field of automation, Robotics
- Balaji Autotech Pvt. Ltd., Mysuru. - For Student internship & Consultancy Work.
- Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development (MGIRED) - To facilitate advanced Training and Research & Development in the field of Renewable Energy and to provide higher learning opportunities to the students & faculties

Certification course:
More than 200 hours of free training for final year students under the scheme CMKKY on the following courses are provided.
- IoT & Automation
- Process Instrumentation.
- Robotics
The department also encourage students to undergo training on PLC and PCB design.
Industry Internship:
As part of curriculum the pre-final & final year students undergo at least 4 weeks internship in different industries/companies.
