Two day National Level Workshop on MEMS & Microsystems

Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering, Mysuru had conducted two day National Level Workshop - “MEMS & MICROSYSTEMS” on 10th & 11th April 2017.Padma Vibhushan Dr Vasudev K Aatre Founder & President of ISSS, Bengaluru inaugurated the Workshop. Prof.S.Gopalakrishna, Aerospace Engg Dept., IISc, Bengaluru, Sri Vasu, Chairman, VVET®, MLA, Chamaraja Constituency, Mysuru, Sri. Kaveesh Gowda V, Secretary, VVET®, Mysuru, Dr. M Ravishankar, Principal , VVIET, Mysuru, Principals ,HODs Faculties from various colleges were present for the Inaugural function. Over 68 Engineering Students from Various Institutions around Mysore such as ATME, MRIT, JSS College and VVIET attended the workshop. Dr.Aatre spoke about "Smart Materials and Microsystems" where he mentioned how smart structures and microsystems can be developed for various applications by taking inspiration from nature. He also enlightened students about the emerging trends in Smart structures & Microsystems and motivated them to make India, A technology generator than being technology followers by taking up projects in this field. Sri Vasu, MLA Chamaraja Constituency & Chairman VVET felicitated Dr. V K Athre for this immense contribution towards the society. Sri. Kaveesh Gowda V, Hon. Secretary, delivered the closing remarks, who gave an insight about how students can catch the ideas, work on the technology and help in fulfilling the needs of the society. Dr.M Ravishankar, Principal delivered the welcome address. Dr.Bindu A Thomas, Professor & Head, Dept. of ECE introduced the chief guest Dr.V.K Aatre. Prof. S.Gopalakrishna, Aerospace Engineering Dept., IISc & President of ISSS, Bengaluru, delivered a talk on Applications of MEMS & MEMS in aerospace design. Prof.Veda Sandeep gave a talk on MEMS in Electronics Applications. On day two, a hands-on session was conducted by Mr.Mohammed & Team. Valedictory function was presided by Dr.Bindu.A.Thomas, Prof & Head, Dept. of ECE, VVIET. Mr. Sundareshan, Chief Administration officer, VVET, Mysore and Mr. Mohammed & team were present for the valedictory function.
