Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) was established in the year 1975. It is one of the first State S&T Councils to be set up in the country. KSCST is an autonomous S&T organization under Department of Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka.

KSCST has implemented a StudentProject Programme (SPP) for providing financial and academic support for student projects in UG and PG in Engineering. The main aim of the programme is to build a strong base for practical problem solving in engineering colleges as well as to build their R & D potential.It provides fund to dig the talent and creativity in the students and the faculty of engineering colleges in Karnataka.

Six innovative student projectsfrom Vidya Vikas Institute of Engineering and Technology have been selected by KSCST for the current financial year (2014-15). KSCST has also sanctioned a sum of INR. 37000/- as sponsorship amount for these projects. The topicsare of current and social interests related to Mechanical, Civil and Electronics and Communication Engineering. The projects are being carried out under the guidance of Dr.Keerthiprasad K.S, Dr. Bindu A Thomas. Smt.Swapna, Mrs. Manasa and Mr. Arun L. Secretary Sri Kaveesh V Gowda, Principal Dr. Ravishankar M., Director(Academics),Heads of the Depts. and SPP coordinator have congratulated the team.
